parkinson’s disease

The Holistic Approach to Treating Parkinson’s Disease

Having a chronic disease that doesn’t have any immediate fix can feel upsetting and frustrating. Medications may be able to help, but many times they don’t solve the underlying problem that is causing the condition in the first place. Chronic diseases, such as Parkinson’s, can be treated with a holistic approach that will help to decrease the symptoms and improve the patient’s quality of life.

What is Parkinson’s Disease?

Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and complex disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, which often includes tremors. Parkinson’s is a progressive disorder, which means that the symptoms continue and worsen over time. Almost one million people in the United States are living with Parkinson’s disease today and the cause of the disease is unknown.

Parkinson’s involves the malfunction of neurons, the vital nerve cells in the brain. When these neurons die, they produce dopamine, which sends a message to the brain that controls movement and coordination. As Parkinson’s progresses, the amount of dopamine produced in the brain decreases, leaving the person unable to control their own movements. While there is no cure for Parkinson’s, there are many treatment options available.

Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease

There are several signs and symptoms that a person has Parkinson’s disease. Some of the symptoms include:

⦁ Slower movement: Several people with Parkinson’s have a shuffling gait, which means they move very slowly from place to place. Due to this slower movement, a person may experience more difficulty performing day-to-day tasks, which can make activities more time-consuming.

⦁ Tremors: Patients usually experience shaking in the hands, fingers or limbs first, and it usually occurs only on one side of the body. Tremors generally occur when the patient is resting, and stops when they perform activities. Pill-rolling, when the thumb and index finger move in circular motions, is a common characteristic.

⦁ Poor posture: Parkinson’s can cause a person to appear bent over when they are walking. Balance can become an issue with the onset of this disease.

⦁ Speech changes: Lack of dopamine in the brain can create speaking issues, such as patients slurring their words, becoming monotone in voice or speaking slower or faster. On the other hand, some patients don’t have any voice changes at all with Parkinson’s.

Holistic Treatments for Parkinson’s

There are several holistic treatments to help reduce the symptoms for Parkinson’s disease. Some of the treatments include:

⦁ Phospholipid Exchange Therapy: Phospholipid exchange replaces toxic fatty oils with cleaner versions of fatty oils by injecting phosphatidylcholine (PC), the main component of cellular membranes, into the bloodstream in order to make it available for use in cell membranes.

⦁ Chelation Therapy: Toxic metals such as mercury, arsenic, lead, and cadmium are known to interfere with many biological functions within the body. Chelation therapy helps guide these metals out of the body and has been used for decades to improve many health conditions.

⦁ IV Therapies: IV therapy is a powerful form of treatment that can be combined with other therapies to help the body recover from many health issues. By feeding vitamins and nutrients to the body’s organs through an IV, the body is able to fully absorb and use all of the vitamins and nutrients.

myers cocktail

What is a Myers Cocktail and How Can it Help

Any person who is concerned with their health will be found taking multi-vitamins and eating foods with plenty of nutrients in order to maintain a healthy body. In many cases, these two actions can be enough. However, for some people, they may find that they aren’t receiving the full benefits from vitamin pills or that they are having difficulty digesting food. This can make the immune system get weaker slowly, which can make it easier for the body to get ill. A good option when this occurs is to take nutrients and vitamins through an IV, such as the Myers Cocktail.

What is a Myers Cocktail?

The Myers Cocktail, named after the late John Myers MD, contains Vitamin C, magnesium, minerals, and B vitamins. The cocktail can be used to combat several health conditions, such as asthma, arrhythmia, chronic fatigue and more. The Myers Cocktail is administered intravenously because, unlike vitamin pills, it allows the nutrients and vitamins to be given directly to the organ systems of the body. This allows the patient to receive the full benefits of each vitamin and nutrient. When a person takes vitamins and nutrients orally, they have to be processed through the liver and intestines. This can render vitamins and nutrients inactive, make them less potent and make the harder to be absorbed by the body.

Myers Cocktail Benefits

There are a number of benefits that can be experienced when using the Myers Cocktail. Some of the benefits that patients can expect include:

⦁ Boosted immune system

⦁ Less migraines

⦁ Feeling re-energized

⦁ Tighter facial skin

⦁ Achieving a healthy glow

Health Conditions Benefited by Myers Cocktail

A number of conditions can be helped through the use of the Myers Cocktail due to the vitamins and minerals it includes. Some of the health conditions that can be benefited from the Myers Cocktail include:

⦁ Gastrointestinal issues

⦁ Chronic fatigue

⦁ Migraines

⦁ Narcotic withdrawal

⦁ Sinusitis

⦁ Bronchitis

⦁ Lyme disease

⦁ Parkinson’s disease

⦁ Food poisoning

⦁ Flu and cold

⦁ Arthritis

⦁ Asthma

⦁ Muscle fatigue

⦁ Chronic depression

Additionally, the this amazing therapy can be used as a method to prevent getting sick in the future. Patients who have difficulty with the symptoms associated with chronic health conditions or who need to improve their immune system can find relief with the Myers Cocktail.

How to Prepare for the Myers Cocktail

The first step patients will need to do is a medical assessment. When the patient is ready to receive the Myers Cocktail, the cocktail will be mixed in the clinic and will be administered through an IV. Patients should make sure they drink plenty of water and eat before they arrive for the Myers Cocktail. Patients can expect the treatment to last anywhere from five to 30 minutes.

hormone replacement therapy

The Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy

Most women and men will feel the symptoms and effects of declining hormones. Women will naturally start to lose their hormones as early as their late 20s and early 30s. These hormones will decline until menopause begins around age 52. When menopause begins, many women will start to experience symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats. Factors such as stress, lack of proper nutrition, poor sleeping habits, smoking, lack of exercise, and excessive alcohol intake can cause hormones to decline even while a woman is still relatively young.

Pre-menopause is when women experience symptoms that are associated with the decline of the female hormones, especially progesterone, and can feel angry towards kids or their significant other. If menopause is treated at this stage, life can become more enjoyable again.

Men can suffer from hormonal imbalances just as women do. Testosterone levels steadily decline in men as they hit the age of 30. This phase is called andropause, or male menopause since the process and symptoms are similar to women’s menopause.

Treating Menopause and Andropause

While the symptoms of menopause and andropause can lower one’s quality of life, there is a solution. Hormone replacement therapy has helped many women and men decrease or get rid of their symptoms for menopause and andropause. Hormone replacement therapy is a procedure that replaces hormones with hormones that are identical on a molecular level. In this way, hormone levels can come back to a normal range and symptoms for both men and women can be alleviated.

The Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy

There are several benefits to undergoing hormone therapy. The benefits include the following:

⦁ Healthier moods: When sex hormones become balanced, healthier moods can be experienced. Sex hormones affect brain chemistry in both men and women by promoting neurotransmitters that send signals of calmness and contentment.

⦁ Regulated body temperature: When hormones are able to signal the hypothalamus in a balanced way, the body temperature is regulated properly. When hormones decline, body temperature can fluctuate and product hot flashes or night sweats.

⦁ Improved sexual function: Both men and women can experience low libido when hormones decline. When the sex hormones are balanced, libido can be improved, along with sexual function.

⦁ Thicker hair: For men, low testosterone levels can cause hair follicles to die away. Increasing free testosterone levels helps increase the thickness of hair and helps preserve hair follicles.

⦁ Weight loss: Both men and women, when deficient in hormones, can feel bloated, retain water or hold onto body fat. Reestablishing the proper hormone balance can lead to weight loss.

⦁ Improved sleep: The hypothalamus also sets the body’s cycles. When hormones are out of balance, the body’s cycle may not be set correctly. Regulating hormones can help the hypothalamus to set sleep cycles, making it easier for men and women to fall asleep.

lupus

Alternative Therapies for Treating Lupus

Chronic diseases can be very uncomfortable and painful and it can be frustrating when there is no long-term solution for it. Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that is caused by the immune system attacking its own tissues and organs. The inflammation caused by lupus can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, and blood cells. While traditional medicine can help with the symptoms of lupus, there are alternative therapies that can improve the person’s quality of life for the long-term.

What is Lupus?

Lupus is when the immune system attacks its own tissues and organs, leaving many parts of the body inflamed. The inflammation can cause fatigue, joint pain, rash, and fever, all of which can flare-up periodically. A common symptom and indicator of lupus is a rash that occurs across the nose and on both cheeks, resembling a butterfly. However, not everyone who suffers from lupus has this symptom. Other lupus symptoms can include:

⦁ Dry eyes

⦁ Chest pain

⦁ Joint pain, stiffness or swelling

⦁ Sun intolerance

⦁ Headaches

⦁ Arthritis

⦁ Fatigue

⦁ Skin rashes

⦁ Fever

⦁ Seizures and psychosis

⦁ Kidney issues

⦁ Skin lesions from exposure to the sun

⦁ Pain while breathing

⦁ Hair loss

Alternative Treatments for Lupus

While there is no cure for lupus, there are many treatments available to help improve the symptoms of lupus and the person’s quality of life. Most treatments for lupus are intended to decrease the amount of flare-ups that occur through autoimmune suppressing drugs. We believe there are therapies other than drugs that can help improve symptoms just as well, if not better. The alternative treatments that can help improve lupus symptoms include:

IV Nutrient Therapy: IV therapy is a powerful form of treatment that can be combined with other therapies to help the body recover from many health issues. By feeding vitamins and nutrients to the body’s organs through an IV, the body is able to fully absorb and use all of the vitamins and nutrients. Otherwise, they would have to be processed through the liver, stomach, and intestines, which can render substances inactive or reduce their potency.

Phospholipid Exchange Therapy:  Chemicals from preservatives in foods, pesticides, and even some prescription drugs can stay in the body on a cellular level, which can cause dysfunction throughout the body. Phospholipid exchange replaces toxic fatty oils with cleaner versions of fatty oils by injecting phosphatidylcholine (PC), the main component of cellular membranes, into the bloodstream in order to make it available for use in cell membranes.

Chelation Therapy: Chelation therapy uses medicines that remove both toxic and non-toxic metals from the body. Toxic metals such as mercury, arsenic, lead, and cadmium are known to interfere with many biological functions within the body. Chelation therapy helps guide these metals out of the body and has been used for decades to improve many health conditions.

hyperthyroidism

What to do About an Overactive Thyroid

The thyroid is one of the most important parts of the body as it releases hormones that are responsible for regulating the body’s metabolism, heart rate and how fast the body burns calories. The thyroid also works to synthesize energy from proteins, carbs, and fats, along with helping the body regulate energy and heat. When an imbalance occurs with the thyroid hormone, two situations can occur, an overactive or underactive thyroid. It hasn’t been until recent years that people have even been able to find information about an overactive thyroid and what to do about it.

Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is an overactive thyroid and occurs when the thyroid produces too much of the thyroid hormone than what the body needs. This results in hyperthyroid symptoms. Some of the symptoms that can occur with an overactive thyroid include:

⦁ Mood swings

⦁ Fatigue/muscle weakness

⦁ Nervousness

⦁ Hand tremors

⦁ Irregular heartbeat

⦁ Trouble sleeping

⦁ Frequent bowel movements

⦁ Weight loss

⦁ Enlarged thyroid gland

⦁ Heat intolerance

Hyperthyroidism is most common in women over 60 years old; those with other thyroid disorders have a higher chance of developing hyperthyroidism in the future. An overactive thyroid can be caused by Graves’ disease, benign thyroid tumors, or certain medications.

What to do About Hyperthyroidism

When a person experiences any of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism or thinks they may have a thyroid problem, they can get tested. Doctors will normally use a test that measures thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid hormone output (thyroxine or T4 and triiodothyronine or T3). However, it has been shown by scientific studies that TSH is an unreliable indicator of thyroid function. Free T3 and free T4 are more reliable to determine the status of the thyroid. Additionally, thyroid antibodies can be checked for, as well as reverse T3. When getting tested for thyroid conditions, be sure to request a test that will check the free T3, free T4, and thyroid antibodies.

If you have been tested and found to have hyperthyroidism, you can be treated for it by a thyroid specialist. No two people who have a thyroid disorder are the same, which means there is no one treatment that can work for every person. Your treatment will be tailored to your situation.

Additionally, lifestyle and home remedies along with treatment can benefit a person with an overactive thyroid greatly. The following suggestions and tips can help reduce the symptoms of hyperthyroidism:

⦁ Supplements: One of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism is losing weight. If you have lost a lot of weight or have experienced muscle wasting, you may need to supplement your diet with more protein or more calories until the hyperthyroidism is under control.

⦁ Calcium and Vitamin D: Hyperthyroidism may contribute to thinning bones, which makes it important to get enough calcium and vitamin D every day. The appropriate amount of each is different for each person. Many people, especially in colder regions, tend to not have enough vitamin D to begin with. Speak with your doctor to know the appropriate amount to be taken.

multiple sclerosis

Treating Multiple Sclerosis with Holistic Medicine

We understand that having a debilitating disease, such as multiple sclerosis, without any real solutions can be upsetting and frustrating. Multiple sclerosis is a rare disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of the nerves. The resulting nerve damage disrupts communication between the brain and the body. Although medical treatments can help, they cannot cure the condition, which leaves people feeling hopeless. The good news is that there are alternative treatments, such as holistic medicine, that can improve the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and improve one’s quality of life.

Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

Some people may be free of multiple sclerosis symptoms for most of their life, while others can have severe chronic symptoms. Symptoms include:

⦁ Pain in back or eyes

⦁ Tremors

⦁ Muscular cramping

⦁ Fatigue

⦁ Dizziness

⦁ Heat intolerance

⦁ Poor balance or vertigo

⦁ Abnormality of taste

⦁ Reduced sensation of touch

⦁ Excessive urination at night

⦁ Blurred vision, double vision or vision loss

⦁ Mood swings

⦁ Slurred speech

Holistic Treatments for Multiple Sclerosis

There are a number of holistic treatments that can improve the symptoms of multiple sclerosis. While these treatments can improve one’s quality of life, they are not a cure for multiple sclerosis. Holistic treatments that can benefit an individual who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis include:

⦁ Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation: UBI helps men and women utilize the healing power of the sun’s rays by directly putting it into their bloodstream. Because of its profound photochemical, biochemical and physiological effects, it has been a great value in treating a wide variety of diseases. When blood is exposed to the ultraviolet light, pathogens and bacteria get killed and the blood becomes charged with more energy. The blood’s oxygen level becomes increased, which improves overall immune function.

⦁ Phospholipid Exchange Therapy: Chemicals from preservatives in foods, pesticides, and even some prescription drugs can stay in the body on a cellular level, which can cause dysfunction throughout the body. Phospholipid exchange replaces toxic fatty oils with cleaner versions of fatty oils by injecting phosphatidylcholine (PC), the main component of cellular membranes, into the bloodstream in order to make it available for use in cell membranes. Phospholipid exchange therapy replenishes fats and oils in the correct proportion within cell membranes and inside cells.

⦁ Intravenous IV Therapy: IV therapy has been known to be a powerful tool in combination with other therapies to help the body recover from many health issues. IV nutrition feeds vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances directly into a patient’s bloodstream, which then bypasses the digestive system. In this way, nutrients are brought directly to the organ systems of the body.

⦁ Chelation Therapy: Chelation therapy uses medicines that remove both toxic and non-toxic metals from the body. Toxic metals, such as mercury, cadmium, and lead, are known to interfere with many biological functions within the body, and chelation therapy allows these metals to bind together in the bloodstream and guides them out of the body, which results in an overall higher immune system and improve overall health.

ultraviolet blood irradiation

The Benefits of Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy

When you have a health condition that persists, it can make you feel hopeless in finding a workable solution. Traditional medical treatments can work very well in treating a variety of conditions. However, in many cases, traditional medical treatments aren’t enough. Alternative treatments can bring a large number of benefits and can help find the underlying cause of several persistent health conditions. Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy is an alternative treatment that can help men and women improve the blood’s oxygen level, which improves overall immune function.

What is Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation?

It has been known for a long time that the sun has the ability to kill bacteria, heal infections, and energize the body. Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation is able to help men and women utilize the healing power of the sun’s rays through directly putting it into their bloodstream. Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation has profound photochemical, biochemical and physiological effects, which is of great value to a wide variety of diseases.

In the 1940s and 1950s, Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UVBI) was regularly used to treat medical conditions including tuberculosis, infections, cancer, and pneumonia. However, when antibiotics became popular in modern medicine, the use of UVBI decreased. Now, people are becoming resistant to antibiotics, making natural therapies and UVBI more desirable and more popular again.

UVBI Benefits

UVBI has been shown to have several benefits with a number of diseases and health conditions. The benefits that can be experienced from UVBI include:

⦁ Increases circulation by dilating blood vessels

⦁ Kills fungal, viral, and bacterial growth

⦁ Improves oxygen absorption into body tissues

⦁ Increases the immune system’s ability to fight infections

⦁ Helps the body to detoxify and remove toxins

⦁ Improves circulation and decreases platelet aggregation

Additionally, exposure to ultraviolet light boosts the immune system and continues to provide benefits even after treatments have been completed. There are often no side effects of UVBI, however, some patients may experience mild flushing or nausea as a sign of toxins leaving the body. UVBI has been proven to be a safe and effective medical treatment.

UVBI can be used by itself or in combination with other treatments for conditions such as:

⦁ Hepatitis

⦁ HIV

⦁ MRSA

⦁ Multiple sclerosis

⦁ Cancer

⦁ Candida

⦁ Acute infections (cold, viral, bacterial infection or influenza)

⦁ Eczema and psoriasis

⦁ Acute and chronic fatigue

⦁ Fibromyalgia

⦁ Lyme disease

⦁ Herpes zoster and simplex

⦁ Autoimmune illnesses

⦁ Arthritis (rheumatoid, psoriatic or osteoarthritis)

⦁ Allergies

What to Expect During a UVBI Treatment

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation involves extracting 200cc’s of blood and irradiating it with ultraviolet light and then returned to the blood stream. While the blood is exposed to the ultraviolet light, pathogens and bacteria get kills and the blood becomes charged with more energy from the light. By increasing the blood’s oxygen level, overall immune function will be improved as well. The entire procedure takes about one hour and has been shown to improve multiple health conditions along with overall health.

epstein barr virus

Knowing the Symptoms of Epstein-Barr Virus

Epstein-Barr, also known as the EBV virus, is a part of the herpes family and is a very common virus that affects several people around the world. Actually, every person is exposed to EBV at some point in their lives and it is estimated that 90 to 95 percent of adults have antibodies that show a current or past EBV infection. Anyone can get Epstein-Barr, but it is most often seen in children. Knowing the symptoms of Epstein-Barr can help you identify whether you have the virus or not more easily.

Epstein-Barr Virus Symptoms

Epstein-Barr is the virus that causes mononucleosis, also known as mono or the “kissing disease.” Epstein-Barr is very common, so much so that you have probably been infected without knowing it; many people carry the virus without getting sick. Once a person is infected with EBV, symptoms can take four to six weeks to show up, and when they do, they’re often mild. The symptoms of EBV include:

⦁ Fever

⦁ Fatigue

⦁ Lack of appetite

⦁ Rash

⦁ Sore throat

⦁ Weakness and sore muscles

⦁ Swollen glands in the neck

While a person should start to feel better within two to four weeks, the feeling of fatigue can stick around for a longer time, as long as two months.

How Epstein-Barr Spreads

The virus is found in the saliva, which is why a person can catch mono from kissing someone who is infected with EBV. You can also receive the virus from drinking out of the same glass or using a toothbrush from a person who is infected with the virus. It can also be found in blood and semen, making it possible to get mono from sex, an organ transplant or blood transfusion.

A person doesn’t have to be sick in order to pass on the virus to another person. The Epstein-Barr virus stays in your body long after recovering from being sick. Additionally, the virus can become active again months or years later.

How Epstein-Barr is Diagnosed

It can be difficult to tell whether a person has Epstein-Barr just by their symptoms alone. Since fever, fatigue and sore throat can be signs of other illnesses, such as the flu or cold, diagnosis can be mistaken. Other symptoms that separate Epstein-Barr from other illnesses are:

⦁ Enlarged spleen

⦁ Swollen liver

⦁ White patches on the tonsils

A blood test may also be necessary to check for antibodies. Antibodies are substances the immune system makes in response to the EBV virus. If antibodies are found, a person has Epstein-Barr or has had it previously. Once Epstein-Barr has been diagnosed, it often goes away on its own without treatment in a few weeks. Getting plenty of rest, drinking a lot of water, taking lozenges, and painkillers to bring down a fever will all help recover from the Epstein-Barr virus.

Learn More About Epstein-Barr at Angel Longevity

At Angel Longevity Center, we understand that Epstein-Barr can be difficult to diagnose, which is why we want the symptoms to be known to our patients. We want to ensure that our patients receive optimal levels of care and the latest therapies available in Functional Medicine. Our friendly staff is experienced in helping patients face and overcome a wide variety of health concerns by creating personalized wellness programs to address each patient’s specific needs. Patients who are experiencing a lot of fatigue for a prolonged period of time and aren’t sure if they have Epstein-Barr, please call our office at (818) 930-5706 to schedule your free wellness phone consultation with one of our chronic disease specialists.

hashimoto’s disease

What is Hashimoto’s Disease and How is it Treated?

Hashimoto’s disease isn’t widely known but is a chronic condition that can be associated with several symptoms. By understanding what Hashimoto’s is and how it can be treated, patients can find relief and improve their quality of life.

Hashimoto’s disease is also known as lymphocytic thyroiditis or autoimmune thyroiditis and affects 14 million people in the United States alone. Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks the thyroid, a small gland at the base of the neck below the Adam’s apple, and causes inflammation. The thyroid is very important as every cell in the body depends upon its hormones for regulation of the metabolism and other bodily functions. If the inflammation isn’t treated early, an underactive thyroid gland, also known as hypothyroidism, can occur. Hashimoto’s primarily affects middle-aged women but can occur in men and women of any age, including children.

Hashimoto’s Disease Symptoms

Hashimoto’s results in a large number of symptoms that can be associated with other health conditions, resulting in a misdiagnosis. It’s important to know the below symptoms and see a doctor if they occur. The symptoms of Hashimoto’s include:

⦁ Lethargy

⦁ Panic attacks

⦁ Anxiety

⦁ Sweating

⦁ Tremors

⦁ Muscle or joint pains

⦁ Insomnia

⦁ Hair loss

⦁ Dry skin

⦁ Fatigue

⦁ Palpitations

⦁ Muscle weakness

⦁ Constipation

⦁ Restless sleep

⦁ Sleepiness during the day

⦁ Memory loss

⦁ Hard to focus

⦁ Concentration problems

What Causes Hashimoto’s?

It’s not exactly known as to what causes Hashimoto’s disease or triggers it. However, a dysfunctional immune system could be triggered by the cumulative toxic burden on the body, which can include stress, injuries, surgeries, heavy metals, chemicals, plastics, food additives, food allergies, processed foods, viruses, bacteria, fungus, mold, and yeast. Functional medicine helps patients get to the root cause of Hashimoto’s, which could be different for each patient. Once the root cause is found, the doctor can create a treatment plan to address the cause and diminish symptoms or get rid of them entirely so the patient’s health can be restored.

Treating Hashimoto’s

In order to treat Hashimoto’s, the patient needs to be tested to ensure they, in fact, have Hashimoto’s. Traditionally, doctors will test for TH to determine if the patient has thyroid problems. However, TH only tells part of the story; it shows if communication between the pituitary and thyroid gland is intact, but doesn’t tell anything about the thyroid cellular activity, which reflects the actual thyroid status of a person. The thyroid gland produces 80 percent of T4 and 20 percent of T3. TSH is not a good indicator of thyroid status especially in Hashimoto’s disease because as cells are being destroyed and they release T4, TSH could remain normal.

Because Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disorder, antibodies against thyroid proteins can be elevated. If the antibodies are elevated, the patient has Hashimoto’s, but if antibodies are negative it doesn’t necessarily rule out Hashimoto’s. Hashimoto’s is a complex disorder and a comprehensive test that includes free T4, free T3, reverse T3, and antibodies will give the full picture of a patient’s diagnosis.

rheumatoid arthritis

Holistic Treatments that Ease the Pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis can be a frustrating and upsetting disorder and can last for years or be lifelong. Rheumatoid arthritis is when the body’s immune system attacks its own tissue, including joints, and in severe cases, it attacks the internal organs. Due to this, painful swelling occurs and over time can cause bone erosion and joint deformity. While there is not cure for rheumatoid arthritis, there are several holistic treatments for rheumatoid arthritis that can help ease the pain and improve one’s quality of life.

Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

There are many symptoms a person can experience with rheumatoid arthritis, some of them being debilitating. The following symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis include:

⦁ Tender, warm, and swollen joints

⦁ Fatigue

⦁ Fever

⦁ Long lasting morning stiffness

⦁ Weight loss

⦁ Rheumatoid nodules or firm bumps of tissue under the skin

⦁ Inflammation of small joints in the hands, fingers, and feet

Holistic Treatments for Rheumatoid Arthritis

There are a number of holistic treatments to help ease the pain caused by inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis. Holistic treatments are different from traditional medical treatments in that holistic treatments have the goal to find the underlying problem and treat it. There are several things that impact our health and a holistic approach allows the doctor and patient to work together to find what will improve the patient’s overall health and address specific health conditions. Holistic treatments that can help ease the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis include:

Intravenous IV Therapy: IV therapy has been known to be a powerful tool in combination with other therapies to help the body recover from many health issues. IV nutrition feeds vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances directly into a patient’s bloodstream, which then bypasses the digestive system. In this way, nutrients are brought directly to the organ systems of the body.

Phospholipid exchange therapy replenishes fats and oils in the correct proportion within cell membranes and inside cells.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation: UBI helps men and women utilize the healing power of the sun’s rays by directly putting it into their bloodstream. Because of its profound photochemical, biochemical, and physiological effects, it has been a great value in treating a wide variety of diseases. When blood is exposed to the ultraviolet light, pathogens and bacteria get killed and the blood becomes charged with more energy. The blood’s oxygen level becomes increased, which improves overall immune function.

Ozone Therapy: This therapy is a mixture of the purest oxygen and purest ozone and increases the amount of oxygen in the body through the introduction of ozone. Ozone can treat pain and inflammation, two of the major symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
