What is Metabolic Typing®?

Metabolic Typing® uncovers the patterns of the genetically based strengths and weaknesses that make up each individual, on a physiological and biochemical level, and it is as unique as fingerprints. It evolved through a correlation of the known scientific facts concerning the fundamental control systems, with the clinical observation and empirical experience of hundreds of practitioners, and hundreds of thousands of cases over the last 33+ years.

Simply put there are two major bodily functions that influence energy levels and the type of fuel a person needs to maintain optimum energy levels.

The systems that control this are the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and Oxidative System. It could be said that the ANS regulates energy levels, and the Oxidative system regulates how food is converted to energy. These two systems are genetically unique to each person. Thus, it is vital that patients have a diet and follow a diet that is ideal for the optimum efficiency of the ANS and Oxidative system.

There are 9 possible metabolic types involved in comparing the ANS and the Oxidative system, and Dr. Mathur specializes in getting each patient’s type accurately established so that he or she can eat to live. A metabolic type test is done to determine which classification is the one a patient needs.
